Much consideration has to be put into designing a functional kitchen.
Over the years I have seen thousands of poorly designed kitchens and bathrooms and it makes you wonder who made those dreadful decisions. However, I have also seen many very cleverly thought out kitchens, from variety of creative minds and themes, some that have originated with the homeowner herself/himself. I say her first, because in majority of cases, the Lady of the House has some pretty sensible ideas of what she would want in her kitchen, and what would work for her, and the family. She may have looked at hundreds of layouts and finishes, studied the trendy home fashions magazines and she has pretty well narrowed down of what she wants. More so, than a Man of the House. His main concern is usual over all look of the house, and primarily the landscape, garden, BBQ and the Man cave; the garage or the Rec Room.
Some poor designs of course, also, originated with the homeowner himself or herself, as the hired tradesmen, or a contractors, just did what the owner asked them to do, without much creativity input or ingenuity. Many of them don’t even have any imagination in the first place. In fact there are many butchers in construction trades.

Then there are many individuals who do have not only artistic inclinations, but are accomplished skilled tradesmen themselves. And those, in many cases, make the best renovators for the project.
As for myself, I came from that background of hands – on experience, as I grew in skill and application of that skill.
Since childhood days, I was always building things, or making gadgets, or Art Nuevo innovative furniture, mostly due to necessity, growing up in modest home in Eastern Europe. Never did I imagine, that I had an aptitude for designing and building unusual but very functional kitchens, utilizing every nook and cranny.To me, every room lends itself to a certain potential layout, and by sensing out the room, intuitively it unfolds itself, and in a few hand drawn sketches, I had surprised many homeowners, as to what could be done to their very own kitchen, bathroom, rec-room, basement apartment or deck. Once they become aware of what it could look like, which is usually beyond their sphere of imagination, it seems to take a hold in their mind, and invariably very often they come back, to pursue it into a reality. I have selected a few of the finished products here, due to space limitations, to give you an idea of what a kitchen can look like.
Even a small bathroom can be attractive and functional by adding a vanity instead of a pedestal sink, which are fine in a 2ps powder room, but provide no storage space. By adding a bank of drawer units, you can increase the functionality and ease of organizing.
Whirpool bathtubs also come in a 5 foot size and are a very popular item. If there is sufficient room for a corner tub, a roman tub, and a separate shower stall, you will spend more relaxation time with water jet massage. Enjoy!.
